StudentWork was founded by two students in 2004 and has grown from a student apartment in Helsinki, with merely the initial equity, to Finland's largest student staffing provider. The company became international when establishing an office in Stockholm 2006. Today StudentWork offers its services in the entire Nordic region. StudentWork is still today a completely owner-led company.

StudentWork is amongst the 25 fastest growing companies in Finland 2010 and was awarded the honorary award for entrepreneurship and expansion by Mauri Pekkarinen of the Minister of Economic Affairs. StudentWork’s country manager and member of the board, Heikki Karimaa, has been elected to the Board of the Finnish Staffing Agencies (HPL).
